Lillian Proctor, 92, of Hillsboro passed away Monday morning, February 13, 2017, at Hill Regional Hospital. Her family will hold a memorial service in her honor at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Hillsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Lillian was born the youngest of eight children to John and Minnie (Grade) Chrispens on October 20, 1924. She grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Moore High School in Moore, OK. On August 2, 1944, she was united in marriage to Paul Proctor in San Diego, while he was stationed in the United States Navy. They would share 71 years together before his passing on September 11, 2015.
The couple lived in California while Paul attended chiropractic school. His practice would take them to Iowa and eventually back to Texas. Paul later became a minister in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination.
Always the supportive preacher’s wife, Lillian helped Paul minister in churches while living in Oklahoma, Arizona, and Texas. They moved to Hillsboro in 1995 to be close to family and minister at the local Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was very active.
For several years, Lillian was employed as an insurance clerk. In addition, she served as a school teacher at several different times throughout her career.
Also preceding her in death were parents and all seven siblings.
Survivors include her son, David Proctor and wife, Sarah, of Arlington; three grandsons, Aaron Proctor and wife, Hayley of Arlington, Austin Proctor and wife, Whitney, of Fort Worth, and Alex Proctor and wife, Lauren, of Houston; and great-granddaughter, Adalyn Elizabeth Proctor.
