Linda Davis

Linda Hoffman Davis, 66, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Donna Ware and Rev. Reed Justus officiating. Burial will follow at Walling Cemetery near Malone. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Linda was born June 18, 1945 in Malone to George and Annie (Hugo) Hoffman. She grew up in Malone and graduated from Hubbard High School, where she was a majorette. She received her Associates Degree from Hill Junior College and worked there following graduation. On November 21, 1966 she married Tommy Joe Davis at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Malone. The couple lived in Hillsboro following their marriage, at which time she joined the First United Methodist Church.

For 23 years she worked at the ASCS office in Hillsboro, retiring as the Assistant Director. For the past 11 years, she had been employed at Citizens National Bank in Hillsboro. Linda and Tommy Joe enjoyed taking many cruises in their retirement.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a great-nephew, Kenneth George Anderson.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Joe Davis of Hillsboro; step-son, Thomas Brent Davis and wife, Rebecca, of Frisco; sister, Georgia Ann Little of Hillsboro; niece, Leigh Ann Lyon and husband, Jeff, of Hillsboro; a great-nephew and niece, Jaryd and Kendyl Lyon of Hillsboro to whom Linda was affectionately called “La-La.”; and two grandchildren, Noah and Katie Davis of Frisco to whom she was affectionately called “Ya-Ya.”
