Linda Ann Lara

Linda Ann Lara, 64 of Itasca passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Providence in Waco, TX. Due to weather conditions, a small family service was held and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Linda was born on February 19, 1956, in Grandview to Henry and Adela (Cavazos) Lara. She grew up in Itasca and graduated from Itasca High School in 1974. Linda loved to dance and travel with her fiancé, Byron Hubbard.  Byron and Linda met in 1993 while working together for the Arlington Police Department, after several years apart they reconnected in 2019 with their wedding scheduled for April 2021. Linda loved her family and enjoyed being a Nana to her grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, decorator and gardener. She worked for the City of Hillsboro for 5 years in the Public Works department.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Linda is survived by her fiancé, Byron Hubbard; son, Mike Martinez and wife, Tallie Martinez; grandchildren, Alec Martinez and wife Presley and Nate Martinez; great-grandchild, Brayleigh Martinez; siblings, Adela Lara Puente, Henry Lara and wife, Rita, Chris Olvera and spouse, David, Angie Lara and spouse, Mark Alcala, Sammy Lara and wife, Isabel, Paul Lara and wife, Vickie, Larry Lara, Bonnie Lara, and Nellie Lara Phifer, her uncles Joe Cavazos and Pete Cavazos.  She is also cherished and loved by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Linda didn’t know any strangers and was beloved by anyone she crossed paths with.  She will be missed by all.
