Lois Harrell, 71, of Abbott passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, in Waco. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Vaughan Baptist Church (corner of FM 310 and FM 1947) in Vaughan with Rev. Wade Yarbro of Cedar Creek Baptist Church officiating.
Lois was born May 3, 1943 in Odessa to Arthur and Eunice Smithee. On March 15, 1963, she married Franklin Harrell in Odessa. For 17 years, she worked for Rangaire in Itasca before retiring in 1986. She loved working puzzle books, watching TV Reality shows and NASCAR, but spending time with her family is what she loved doing the most. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Donnie Harrell; daughter, Debra Kempke; granddaughter, Dedra Bartley; brother, Bobby Smithee; two sisters, Merlene Spencer and Sue Robinson; and step-father, James (Blackie) Black.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 51 years, Frank Harrell of Abbott; son, Billy of Abbott; daughter, Patricia and husband, David Bartley, of West; son-in-law, Rodney Kempke of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Melanie of Florida; grandchildren, Billy and Jessica of Waco, Kara & Derek Bartley of West, Rodney Kempke of Odessa, Savannah and Justin Helton of Delaware, and Danny and Chris Harrell of Florida; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
