Lois Garey Jackson, after 82 blessed years of life, went to her eternal home with Jesus on November 3, 2013. A memorial service will be held at the Open Range Cowboy Church 582 FM 1713, Whitney, on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Gerald Dudley officiating.
Lois was born on September 25, 1931, in Onalaska, to the late Lelia Augusta (Christian) and Ottis Hamilton Cooke. She graduated from Forest High School in Dallas and worked for Gifford Hill Pipe and Kirkpatrick O’Donnell Equipment Co. She was an active member of Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney and a member of WOW - Women of Wisdom. Her adventurous, selfless and fun-loving spirit will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Plessinger and Helen Shackelford; and grandson, Jonathan Wells.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 12 years, Joe Jackson; sons, Jody Wells and Craig Martin and wife, Leslie; stepson, Jerry Garey and wife, Anna; stepdaughter- Darla Crowder and husband, Brian; sisters, Penny Pearson, Annie Laurie Oder and husband, Wesley, Melodie Peveto and husband, James; brother, Ottis (Buddy) Cooke and wife Voncil; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.
