Lola Peacock

Lola Mae Peacock 87, of Whitney, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, in Whitney, Texas. Chapel services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with burial at Yates Cemetery near Whitney with Rev. Brad Slaten officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas

Lola was born on June 8, 1930 in Frost to William Franklin and Ora (Douglas) Posey and grew up there in the Frost area. She married William “Billy” Peacock on May 29 , 1948, in Hill County, Texas and he preceded in death on May 4, 2013. She was the youngest of ten children and enjoyed every minute of taking care of her family. Her interest included gardening ,baking, playing the piano and creative projects such as sewing. Even after her family was out of school, she was classroom grandmother at Whitney Elementary School for many years. Lola will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of King Memorial United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were her parents and all of her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children; Delwin Peacock and wife Pam of Waco, Becky Bighouse and husband Gary of Peoria, grandchildren; Amber Seely and husband Dustin of Whitney, Texas, Holly Prochazka and husband Matt of Seoul, South Korea, Connie Spellman and husband Glen of Tucson, Arizona, Heather Peacock of Waco, Texas, Hayley Lehoski and husband Daniel, of Washington D.C. great- grandchildren; Makenzie, Mason, Averie, Layla, Everett, Jude, Lauren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
