Lola Pearl Webb, 94, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Homestead Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hillsboro. Lola was born January 28, 1916 in Desdamona, TX daughter of Author and Callie Stone McMillian. On November 15, 1942 she married R. C. Webb and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1975. Before her retirement, she worked at Woods Manufacturing and then at Hillcrest Carpet Plant. An admirer of all types of flowers, gardening and working in her yard brought her much enjoyment. She loved to crochet and do arts and crafts. An avid sports fan, Lola always enjoyed watching all types of sports including baseball, football, basketball, and wrestling. The biggest part of her life was spent caring for and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. Also preceding her in death were her parents; infant daughter, Linda Kay Webb; daughter, Kathy Degner; three brothers, Woody, P. D., and John McMillian; and three sisters, Pollie and Pauline Renfro and Lil Todd. Survivors include her daughter, Ava Webb of Hillsboro; son-in-law, Larry Degner of Bynum; four sisters, Iline McMillian of O'Donnell, Callie Massey of Lubbock, Ollie Pendleton of Seminole, and Hattie Evans of Tyler; two grandchildren, Christine Cordell and husband, Kelly, of Hillsboro and Jason Degner and wife, Sarah, of Bynum; and five great-granddaughters, Madison, Abigail, and Emily Cordell all of Hillsboro and Cheyenne Riffitt and Jaedyn Degner both of Bynum.
