Lonnie Wayne Sevier, 69, of Whitney passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Chaplain Leanne Ryan of Providence Hospice officiating.
Lonnie was born November 28, 1944 in El Paso, Texas, the son of Raymond and Stella (Fortenberry) Sevier. He graduated from Ysleta High School in 1962 and married Shirley Ann Floyd that same year. He moved to the Dallas area in 1977. Lonnie married Doris Jackson February 24, 1979 and they moved to Lake Whitney in 1990. He married Cynthia Chaney on October 16, 2004. Lonnie worked for Artcraft in El Paso, Tejas in Dallas, then founded Sevier Enterprises. He served as the first president of the King Creek Water Board in Bosque County.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leroy Sevier.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Cynthia Sevier of Whitney; children and spouses, Lonnie Sevier, Jr. and Kimberly of Allen, Jim Bob Sevier and Curtis Wilson of Pilot Point, Susie Miller and Tim of Quinlan, David Kitchens, Mark Kitchens, Scott Kitchens and Angela, Adam Chaney, Joe Chaney, Matthew Chaney and Chandra, all of Whitney; sister, Carolyn Smith of Houston; grandchildren, Cody, Shawn, Justin, Tabby,Krysta, Noah,Ryder, Byron, Angie, and Moris, great-grandchildren, Lance, Isabella and Christopher; nephews, B. J. and Chris Smith.
