Loretta Elizabeth Kaufman Decker—August 7, 1949 -May 4, 2019. Known to her friends as Lori and family as Mom or Yaya, lost her struggle with declining health and has passed away in the early hours on the morning of Saturday May 4, 2019. Lori was born and raised on Long Island, New York and moved with her family to Texas in 1998. She had moved to the Whitney, Texas area in 2012, where she resided when she passed away.
She was the oldest of two daughters, born to the Fred and Emma Kaufmann and was the beloved wife of Brian Michael Decker for over 35 years. Lori will forever be remembered by her younger sister Linda Bovich and brother-in-law Hugh Bovich, beloved children William Clarke, Stacey Clarke, David Audette, Jean Audette Edwards, Brianna Marilyn Decker Simmons, loving daughter-in-law Dana Audette and loving son-in-law Alex Simmons, treasured grandchildren Krystle Clarke, Michael Clarke, Nicholas Clarke, Elaina Audette, Harley Audette, Isaiah Clarke, Andrew Clarke, Emma Simmons, and Henry Simmons, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to have known her.
Lori loved to read, color, listen to music and be surrounded by her family. She was deeply in touch with nature and loved animals, especially hummingbirds and wolves. She had a deep affinity for rescue animals and her tender heart embraced everything and everyone she met.
Lori touched the lives of many people with her warm heart and generosity. She remained strong and in good spirits right up to her final breath. There was a small memorial for her with her children and husband present at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Lori loved all animals and we ask that you donate to your local animal rescue facility in her name, should you be moved to do something in her memory. Lori will be sorely missed, and her love and spirit will live on in all of us.
