Lorine Morris Taylor

Lorine Morris Taylor, age 80 of Whitney, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Baylor and Scott White Hillcrest in Waco Texas. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney with the Rev. Johnny Ray Young and Rev. Shawn Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Towash Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lorine was born on August 13, 1939 in West, Texas to William Henry and Ethel Ernestine (Hamilton) Morris. She grew up in West and graduated from Dunbar High school.

In 1954, she was united in marriage to Ivy Anderson and to this union 6 children were born.  She later married Lonnie Taylor in 2008.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking, doing cross word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed walking for exercise. Lorine was a member of the Methodist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lonnie Taylor; son, Bobby Dwayne Anderson; daughter, Darlene Anderson-Young; 4 brothers, Alvin, Raymond, Charles and Jon Morris; one sister, Ivera Joseph.

Lorine is survived by her children, Lynette Anderson of Whitney, Wilma Overstreet of Whitney, Veneta “Kay” Washington of Killeen, Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Bickham of Elm Mott; sister-in-law's, Joyce Morris and Billie Ruth Morris; 11 grandchildren, William D. Overstreet and wife, Mary Perez-Overstreet, Corey Washington, Ryan Keith Anderson, Justin Kyle Green, Aleesya Washington, Brittany Johnson, Cy’ Netdria B. Weaver, Jaleel Bickham, Lavell Gilmore, Breaunna Thomas, Joshua Ray Young and 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
