Lou Thornton

Lou Thornton, 81, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. The daughter of John Lonnie and Della Austin Johnson, she lived in Hillsboro since the mid 1950's. After 49 years, she retired from H & R Drug Store in Hillsboro on May 15, 1998 and worked in the lunch room at Hillsboro Schools for about 5 years. She married Arvil Thornton on May 22, 1947 in Hamilton and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1987. Lou was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Also preceding her in death were her parents; 5 brothers, Charlie Johnson, Henry Johnson, Doc Johnson, Wilburn Johnson and J. L. Johnson; and a sister, Bessie Hopkins. Survivors include brothers, Clifford Johnson and wife, Wilma of Waco, Lester Johnson and wife, Wilmuth of Weatherford; sisters, Ione Cosby of Hamilton and Nettie Streater of Hamilton amd several nieces and nephews.
