Louis Marquart

Louis Charles Marquart, age 88, of San Angelo passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018, at
The Springs Assisted Living in San Angelo. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday,
September 20, 2018, at Richland Cemetery in Mertens with Rev. Darren Heil officiating. A
reception will follow the service at the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Mertens.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Marshall and
Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Louis was born on November 24, 1929, in Corsicana to Robert N. and Donnie Mae (Horton)
Marquart. He attended school in Brownwood and graduated from Mertens High School before
graduating from Texas A&I University (now Texas A&M) in Kingsville. He was employed as a
registered engineer in the oil and natural gas industry and loved the 40 years he spent in that
career.

In March of 1998, Louis and Joan Simmons were united in marriage. From 1948-1952, he
proudly served his country in the United States Marines. In his spare time, he enjoyed RVing,
hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents, Charles and Altha Horton. Survivors
include his wife, Joan Simmons Marquart; daughters, Traci Renfrow and husband, Buster, Doni
Marquart and Valeri Marquart; son, Charles Marquart; and grandchildren, Ty and Rand Renfrow.
