Louise M. Skinner, 103, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Frost Cemetery near Frost with Mr. Gene Edens officiating. Mrs. Skinner will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Born August 21, 1914 in Maypearl, she was the daughter of Thomas Ezra and Ollie Josephene (Downing) Clifton. She grew up in the Frost and Blooming Grove areas, attending school in Blooming Grove. On September 7, 1940, Louise was united in marriage to Harry E. Skinner in Corpus Christi. The couple lived in Corpus Christi for several years and various other places while her husband served in the United States Army. They retired to Hillsboro in 1982. In her younger years, Louise took interest in her son’s activities and served as a den mother in the Cub Scouts. She was a member of College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Harry Skinner on February 26, 2000; two brothers, Arthur and Doug Clifton; and four sisters, Faye Helms, Ruby Rawlings, Juanita Matthews, and infant sister, Edith Clifton.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Skinner of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
