Loyd Wayne Murphy

Loyd Wayne Murphy, age 56, of Whitney, TX, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 16, 2021.  A private memorial will be held for Wayne at a later date.

Wayne was born on November 17, 1964, in Plainview to Loyd and Patsy (Gibson) Murphy.  He was raised in Irving, where he attend The Christian Academy and Nimitz High School.  Wayne grew up loving and playing soccer, going camping, traveling with his parents and summer church retreats.  After high school, Wayne attended TSTC in Waco and earned a degree in welding.  Welding for Wayne was not just a career, but his passion.  He also enjoyed working with leather, hunting, going to rodeos, and watching sports.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Cori Godwin and husband, Bacel; daughters, Jessica and MacKenna; wife, Lisa; Lisa's daughters, Caitlyn Whitman and husband, Paul; grandsons, Mason and Colby, Shelby Shelton and husband, Jacob; grandchildren, Kaydence and Nathan, Ashley Cassell, Barrett, Nicole Cassell, Kylan, A.J. and D.J.; along with many uncles and cousins.
