Lt. Col. Ret. Elwood Fogleman, 99 of Whitney passed away on March 28, 2010 in Hillsboro. Elwood was born on August 18, 1910 in Pollock, Louisiana; the son of the late John O'Quinn and Annie Allie Keller Fogleman. He grew up in Louisiana and entered the Army after high school. After serving for 32 years in the service he retired on April 1, 1962 as a Lt. Col. in the Ordnance Corps in St. Louis. He returned to serve the Army as a civilian position for another 12 years also in St. Louis. He moved to Whitney in 1998. On November 13, 1999, he married LeVetra Green. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitney and the Hillsboro Lions Club. Also preceding him in death were 7 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include his wife LeVetra of Whitney; children, Nellene Cobb and husband Zack of Hillsboro, Kaye Peters and husband David of Fort Worth; 4 step children, Pamela Ferrell and husband Mark of Plano, Mary Wolf and husband Danny of Houston, David Yee and wife Berlinda of Katy, Michael Yee and wife, Audrey of Kona, HI; brother, Lee Scarborough Fogleman of Louisiana; 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
