Biography
Lucretia Margaret Brown, 80, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Dr. Carl Jennings of First Baptist Church in Whitney officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery in Gerald. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at the funeral home.
Lucretia was born on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1934, in Ranger to Harmon Lafayette and Sarah Lucretia (Casey) Horn. She grew up in Axtell, graduated from Axtell High School, and went on to attend 4-C Business College in Waco. On January 7, 1956, Lucretia was united in marriage to L. N. Brown. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2013. Having a lot of family time was very important to her. Lucretia loved sewing for her daughters and granddaughters and in her spare time she enjoyed painting with her sisters. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Dale Gibbs; and five brothers, Buck, Herman, Tant, Clarence, and Roy “Big Boy” Horn.
Survivors include her three children, Terri Crawford and husband, Philip, of Hillsboro, Roy Brown and wife, Kim, of Sabinal, and Lori Atwell and husband, Jeff, of Hillsboro; sister, Betty Foster of Elk; seven grandchildren, Cameron, Addison, and Madeline Crawford, all of Hillsboro, Chesney and Jacob Brown of Sabinal, McCall Parrish of Waco, and Tiffany Jones and husband, J., of Weatherford; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Avery, and Chloe Jones, all of Weatherford; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Woodruff of Dallas, Marilyn Krantz of Granbury, and Carolyn Horn of Elk; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
