Lucy Leeman

Lucy Leeman, 79, of Whitney passed away on April 8, 2009 at Park Plaza Nusing Home. Lucy was born on June 26, 1929 in Rotan, Texas, the daughter of Johnny Taylor and Tommie Lucille Wilkes Harkins. She graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas. On February 14, 1947, she married David Leeman, Sr. They moved to Whitney in 1975. Lucy enjoyed doing oil paintings, china paintings and making ceramic dolls. She was a member of Towash Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, David Leeman, Sr. on Nov. 4, 1998 and son, Tommy Leeman on June 28, 1999. Survivors include her children, David Leeman, Jr. and wife, Rebel, Sharon Daniels and husband, Billy, Kathy Leeman all of Whitney; brother, Bobby Harkins and wife Judy of Sardis; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
