Ludie Mae Hobbs, 88, of Waco passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Lakeshore Village in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the cemetery.
Ludie Mae was born January 11, 1926 in Ellis County to Arthur and Willie Mae Hines. On May 19, 1942 she married Tommy Hobbs. The couple lived in Goldsmith for a number of years until moving to Whitney in 1983 following Tommy’s retirement from El Pasco Natural Gas.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitney. Preceding her in death were her husband on November 3, 2006; son, Ronnie Hobbs; and daughter, Sherry Hobbs.
Survivors include a son, Tommy E. Hobbs and wife, Maureen, of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Stephanie Chrane and husband, Bob, Ronnie Dee Hobbs, Chad Hobbs, Heather Mathis and husband, Bryan, and Malena Gamble; and seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Benton, Jacob Chrane, Taylor Hobbs, Zachary Hobbs, Matthew Hobbs, Illyssa Mathis, and Kolhtom Mathis.
