Lyn Massey

Lyn Massey, 75, of Whitney, passed away on January 4, 2016, at a Whitney nursing home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Janaury 7, 2016, at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas.

Lyn was born in Bonham, Texas, on April 22, 1940, to Lynwood and Ann (Tittsworth) Massey. He grew up in Bonham and graduated from Denison High School in 1958. On August 31, 1962, he married Sherry Steed. They lived in Lancaster where he worked as a draftsman for Texas Utilities, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service.

An avid Civil War historian and enthusiast, he loved anything that pertained to the Civil War and participated in re-enactments. He collected Civil War memorabilia, especially hats and belts.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Chip Massey.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Massey of Whitney.
