Biography

Lyndal Duane, “L.D.”, McGouirk, 77, of Whitney, passed away on January 5, 2014 in Alvarado Meadows Rehabilitation Center in Alvarado. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, January 10, 2014, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Chaplain James Cox officiating.

L.D. wa s born in Bonham on September 10, 1936, to Claude and Bessie (Windle) McGouirk. He lived in Arlington where he met and married Elizabeth “Arkie” Turner. In 1970, he moved to Whitney. Riding on his lawn mower and being outdoors were two pastimes that he particularly enjoyed. He also loved dogs, especially his two dogs, Miss Piggy and Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a daughter, Angela McGouirk, two brothers, Glen and Mac McGouirk and a sister, Claudie Carol Nye.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana Buckner of Whitney and grandson, Raymond Buckner of Paris; and several nieces and nephews. .
