Mable Whitt

Mable Louise Whitt, 77, of Hillsboro died Monday, May 10, 2010, at her residence. She born April 24, 1933 in Corbet, near Hubbard, daughter of the late William Dewey and Annie Bell Putman Coffey. She lived in Hill County all of her life and for the last 50 years in Hillsboro. On May 25, 1957 she married Melvin Red Whitt in Hubbard and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1979. In her earlier years, the couple enjoyed fishing together nearly every weekend. She loved to cook and take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her children, James Melvin Whitt of Hillsboro, Mickey Lynn Whitt of Cincinnati, OH, and Donna Louise Huse of Hillsboro; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors to assist with funeral expenses.
