Mack Fullerton, Jr

Mack Fullerton, Jr., 81 of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Michael Nemec officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Mack was born May 10, 1934 near Hubbard to Lu Ida (Jackson) and Mack Fullerton, Sr. From 1956-1958, he served his country in the United States Navy. For over 30 years, he was employed by Safeway in Hillsboro retiring as Assistant Manager. On November 18, 1959, Mack was united in marriage to Jean Scheu at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead. He and Jean enjoyed taking their grandchildren on summer road trips and camping at Lake Whitney. He also enjoyed videotaping and storm watching. Mack will be remembered by many as a prankster, fun loving, and caring man who would never hesitate to help out a stranger or tell them a joke. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Jean Fullerton, on May 29, 2015; a baby sister; and two brothers, Robert Fullerton and Richard Fullerton.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Diaz and husband, Raymond, of Stockdale and Amy Cox of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Christopher Lenart and wife, Kasey, Matt Lenart, and Patrick Lenart, all of Waco, Cutter Ainsworth of Stockdale, and Aaron Fullerton, Rachal Cox, and Brian Cox, all of Hillsboro; honorary grandson, Caleb Cox of Bynum; great-granddaughter, Ella Jean Lenart of Waco; two sisters-in-law, Janie Fullerton of Waco and Laverne Fullerton of Round Rock; and many nieces and nephews.
