Marchieta Dumas, 80, of Cleburne died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Walls Regional Hospital in Cleburne. Marchieta was born October 24, 1927 in Hillsboro, Texas the daughter of John Coates and Charlcie King Harrington. In 1944 she graduated from Hillsboro High School where she served as cheerleader and played the flute in the HHS Band. On December 1, 1945 she married James Kenneth Dumas in Hillsboro. After marriage, they lived in Dallas briefly before spending a couple of years in Hillsboro. The couple settled in Cleburne thereafter. A member of First Baptist Church in Cleburne, she worked in it's nursery for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading and was a member of a book club for many years in Cleburne. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, J. C. Harrington, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Dumas of Cleburne; children, Penny Sue Venglar and husband, Patrick, of Port Orchard, WA and Pat Dumas and wife, Pam, of Lucas; sister, Doris Dutton of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Amy Venglar, Molly Foster, and Susan Venglar all of Port Orchard, WA; and Dane and Cole Dumas of Lucas; two great-granddaughters, Megan and Chloe Foster; two sisters-in-law, Billie London of Lewisville and Kay Harrington of Mesquite; and numerous nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.
