Marcos Montes

Marcos was born February 4, 1934 in Goliad, Texas to Pablo and Guadalupe Prez Montes. He lived in Hillsboro and in the Woodbury area since 1974. On March 11, 1958 he married Elida Tamayo in Santon, Texas. Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Diana Montes in 1982; and two brothers, Ernesto Montes and Pablo Montes, Jr. He was a farmer and a member of Hill Apostalic Church of the Faith in Jesus Christ. Survivors include his wife, Elida Montes of Woodbury; eleven children, Felipe Garcia of Aransas Pass, Dora Garcia of Lubbock, Joe Montes of West, Thelma Valdez of Austin, Sylvia Barrientos of Houston, Erma Linda Montes of Hillsboro, Israel Montes of Hillsboro, Delia Cordova of Grandview, Marcos Montes, Jr. of Whitney, Ezekiel Montes of Peoria, and Sally Mojica of Hillsboro; three brothers, Juan Montes of Hillsboro, Federico Montes of Hillsboro, and Alfredo Montes of Whitney; four sisters, Guadalupe Garcia of Lubbock, Celia Duron of Albuquerque, NM, Consuelo Abrego of Hillsboro, and Otilia Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
