Mardeth Cooley

Mardeth Mardy Cooley, 72, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Mardy was born January 4, 1936 in Norwich, New York, where she grew up and attended school, the daughter of Charles Edgar and Marion Tayntor Young. On November 24, 1956 she married Gerald Jerry' Cooley in Norwich and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2002. While in New York, she was active in church and raising three daughters. Mardy and Jerry moved to Texas in 1978. For over 18 years she was church secretary at First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro. She and Jerry were both realtors while in Hillsboro. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. Also preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Thall and husband, Mark, of Brookfield, NY, Donna Bower and husband, David, of Hillsboro, and Denise Bleidt and husband, Hodge, of Whitney; sister, Marlene Scheer and husband, Al, of Oneonta, NY; six grandchildren, Daniel, David, and Dustin Thall; Cody and Cassie Brown; and Natalie Bower; and many nieces and nephews.
