Margaret Allen

Margaret Kay Allen, 63, of Whitney, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at a local nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Open Range Cowboy Church with Rick Pinner, officiating.

Kay was born on October 31, 1951, in Dallas and was raised by Fred and Ina Dawson. In July of 1986, Kay and Charles Allen were married. She taught at Whitney ISD for 13 years and enjoyed working with the kids. Gardening and raising chickens were favorite pastimes and she especially loved being involved in the lives of her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ina and Fred Dawson, grandson, Tyler McHam and granddaughter, Mandy Johnston, and mother and father-in-law, George and Maxine Allen.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Allen of Whitney, children, Sandra Allen of Whitney, Mark McHam and wife, Michelle of Whitney, Shannon Helm of Houston, Kerri Kirk of Goldthwaite, Terry Parker of Waco, Donna Johnston and husband, Cliff, of Weatherford and Charla Allen of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Stacey, Stephanie, Chelsea, Katelynn, Paige, Kyndal , Colton, Travis, Graham, Trenton and Jacob; great-grandchildren Jayce, Aubri and Jace.
