Margaret Hazen

Margaret Hazen, 72, of Hillsboro died Monday, April 27, 2009, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Margaret was born May 15, 1936 in Farmington, New Mexico the daughter of Wallace and Garcie McMurtry Bowen. On November 12, 1953 she married Billy Don Hazen, Sr. and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2002. Her husband was a career military man and they traveled extensively, living in many places. In 2001 they moved to Hillsboro. She was an active grandmother, sharing in her grandchildrens activities. She was very devoted to her family and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hillsboro. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Billy Don Hazen, Jr.; two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her three daughters, Shirley King of Hillsboro, Karyn Sharpe and husband, Lawrence A., and Pamela Garza and husband, Sammy, all of Arlington; brother, Arthur Bowen of Pampa; three sisters, Ruth Fleming of Dove Creek, CO, Frances Hazen of Farmington, NM, and Ethel Woods of Blountville, TN; six grandchildren, Melissa Washington, Aaron King, Justin Sharpe, Lance Sharpe, Joshua Johnson, and Jennifer Hazen; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Peters, Davin Washington, Veronica Sharpe, Kyle King, and Jordan Hazen; and many nieces and nephews.
