Margaret Hill

Margaret Alice Hill, 82, passed away on June 15, 2019, in Whitney. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2019 at White Bluff Chapel, under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Rev. Robert Besser will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Concord Cemetery near Centerville, Texas. A visitation will take be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on August 26, 1936, in Livingston, Texas, to Dorthy and Annie (Rowell) Besser. She grew up in the Livingston / Houston area, graduating from Aldine High School in 1954. After graduation, she worked in the oil industry in Houston. She later moved to California and was an office manager in real estate management. While there, she finished her education at L.A State, receiving a bachelors degree in accounting. On November 28, 1981, she married Howard Copeland Hill, III in Lake Tahoe. She lived in California from 1970 until 2013 when she moved to Whitney.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing golf, was a member of the Whitney Book Club, and worked with the children of Cedar Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday evenings.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John S, “Buddy” Besser.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Hill; and children, Glen Bruner and wife, Cindy and Mark Bruner and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Dylan Harris, Marshall Harris, Kyle Bruner and Wyatt Bruner; great-grandchildren, Kylie Bruner and Willow Bruner; as well as several cousins, niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.
