Maria Suzanne Desiree (Johnston) Algier

Maria Suzanne-Desiree Algier, age 76, of Itasca went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday January 16th, 2021. Suzanne passed away of natural cause peacefully in her home in Itasca, Texas. Suzanne dedicated her life to be an obedient Servant for the Lord, a loving Mother, and Wife.

Suzanne was born on September 23rd, 1944 in Memphis Tennessee to Father Chesley Johnston, and Ethel Eileen Johnston. Suzanne was a resident of Euless, Texas for 60 years, and moved to the city of Itasca to reside in her remaining years. Suzanne attended school at L.D Bell Highschool in Bedford, Texas, and UTA College University in Arlington, Texas. Suzanne had a zest for life, she was sweet, sassy, determined, and always happy.  Suzanne was a ballet dancer since a young age and was seen numerous times in the newspaper for winning competitions. Suzanne proclaimed passion will always take over the wheel and drive you right to success. Suzanne was Ms. Flame in 1964-65, and a runner up in the Ms. Auto Contest soon thereafter.  Suzanne won “Mother of Year Award” every year from 1967-2021.

Suzanne worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber company; her love of styling hair led her into the career of a Cosmetology. Suzanne loved to share her gift of counseling as a volunteer Prayer Counselor for James Robertson Ministries. Her gift of counsel brought many souls to accept the Lord as their savor. Suzanne carried out her work for the Lord as a counselor up into her last days. Suzanne counseled to the broken hearted, and the oppressed helping them to see the love and joy of being saved.

Four Children: Julie Ann LaHaie of Euless, Texas. Debra Lynn Alger of Teague,Texas. Deonna Lanette Alger of Little Elm, Texas. Michael Christopher Alger of Bedford,Texas. Stepchildren: Kenneth Marvin Alger of LaPorte,Texas. Grandchildren: Chesley Jacobs Measom of Austin,Texas. Sean LaHaie of Euless,Texas. Kalob Kenneth Brian Shelly of Azle, Texas. Great Grandchildren: Kaidyn Rose, and Kylinn Rae Shelly of Little Elm,Texas. Eloise Measom of Austin,Texas.  Nieces and Nephews: Scott Reeder of Orlando, Florida. Son in Laws: Paul LaHaie of Euless,Texas. Stephen Fredeking Jr. of Little Elm,Texas. Mark Alger of Bedford, Texas.

Suzanne was preceded in death by: Father, and Mother Chesley and Ethel Eileen Johnston of Euless, Texas. Husband, Cloyce Marvin Alger of Flower Mound, Texas. Stepdaughter, Sheryl Alger Brazell of LaPorte, Texas. Grandson, Cain Alexander Sullivan Shelly of Little Elm,Texas
