Maria Hernandez

Maria Del-Refugio Hernandez, 53, of Brandon passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at her residence. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro, with visitation to follow until 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Monday, March 18, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Father Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrant. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery.

Born September 25, 1965, in Dolores-Hidalgo, Mexico, she was the daughter of Miguel and Julia (Marmolejo) Gutierrez. On July 11, 1984, Maria was united in marriage to Martin Hernandez. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Maria was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Julia Gutierrez and brother, Juan Gutierrez.

Survivors include her husband, Martin Hernandez of Brandon; father, Miguel Gutierrez of Dolores-Hidalgo, Mexico; three children, Martha Hernandez and husband, Pedro Rangel of Bastrop, Martin Hernandez of Dolores-Hidalgo, Mexico, and Mayra Hernandez of Brandon; four brothers, Miguel Gutierrez of Hillsboro, Romeo Gutierrez of Dallas, Jose Gutierrez of Austin, and Pedro Gutierrez of Dallas; four sisters, Cruz Villegas of Hillsboro, Gloria Gutierrez of Hillsboro, Rosa Garcia of Bay City, and Ma. Elena Torres of Hillsboro; and four grandchildren, Juan Rangel and Jennifer Rangel, both of Bastrop, Briana Hernandez of Hutto, and Jade Johnson of Brandon.
