Marie A. Carmichael

Marie Carmichael, age 92, of Hillsboro passed away on June 14, 2019 in Ft. Worth. A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2019 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Darrell Beggs, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may sign a guestbook from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 16th at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Marie was born to L. M. And Hila Ann (Earl) Rowe on March 21, 1927. Marie, better known as Doodles to her brothers and sisters, was the youngest of eleven children. In November of 1946, she married Archie Carmichael.

Marie was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Not only was she devoted to family, she cared about those around her. She worked many years at Power’s Electric and Gifts and loved seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Marie was a member of Central Baptist Church. She delighted in taking part in all the church activities until her failing health no longer allowed her to attend.

She loved playing games, and more often than not, she was a winner. She loved to sew and made most of her daughters clothes when they were young. Marie also loved to crochet and was delighted to share the beautiful dollies that she made with family and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Archie, on August 2, 1975; her parents; eight brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Janice Frase and husband, David of Ft. Worth and Judy Tibbetts and husband, Paul of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Blair Martin and husband Will of Ft. Worth, Rachell Tibbetts of St. Louis, Mo.; great grandchildren, Ellie Martin and William Martin and baby Rose who will be born in September.

The family thanks Community Hospice of Texas for the care they gave our loved one. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Central Baptist Church, 1100 Old Bynum Rd., Hillsboro, Texas 76645.
