Marilyn Sue (Farquhar) Cockerham

Marilyn Sue Farquhar Cockerham entered her heavenly home on September 30, 2023. She was born on January 10, 1937, in Culp, Texas to Bill and Lois Farquhar. Sue grew up in the small community of Culp before moving to Hillsboro, Texas. She began a career as a lab technician for Hillsboro Clinic and later Hill Regional. She worked for over 40 years before retiring in 2012. Her work ethic, compassion, loving personality, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on her coworkers.

During her retirement, Sue loved working in her yard, tending to her potted plants, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Sue loved to watch football and was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. She was a member of the Covington Baptist Church and Woodbury Baptist Church.

One of her greatest attributes was she was able to transfer her love of life and fun for life to those around her. She always had a story to tell that made her listeners laugh. Her greatest passion was her grandchildren and great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as Meme. She enjoyed taking part in every aspect of their lives and spoiling each one of them. She was also a Meme to extended family and many others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Olin Farquhar; sisters, Bettye Tribble, Kay Bennet, and Glenda Farquhar. She is survived by her brothers, George Farquhar of Woodbury, Tx; Billy Farquhar of Itasca, Tx, and Danny Farquhar and wife Cathy of Hillsboro, Tx; son Jeff Cockerham of Cleburne, Texas; son Dennis Cockerham and wife Kathryn of Cleburne, Tx; grandchildren, Jordan Krueger and husband Jeff of Austin, Tx, Kyle Cockerham of Denton, Tx and Kara Cockerham of Burleson, Tx.; great grandchildren, Reed Krueger and twins, Austin and Parker Krueger; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In honor of her love for her church community and her cats, the family requests that any contributions be made to Woodbury Baptist Church 1805 FM 309 Hillsboro, Texas, 76645 or Hill County Paw Pals, Inc., PO Box 1533, Hillsboro, Texas 76645
