Marion Dee Hill, a man of God, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 29, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, with Brian Rockey officiating.
Marion was born in Binger, Oklahoma, on March 25, 1940, to John and Erma (Mize) Hill. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1963 before being honorably discharged. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 26 years where he maintained postal equipment.
Marion loved the Lord and studied theology at Howard Payne University in Corpus Christi. He received a ministers license in 2008, sharing his messages on radio stations including KHBR 1560 in Hillsboro, and gave to several charitable organizations including Joy Filled Homes. A farmer by trade, he raised cattle, goats, sheep, chickens and an ornery llama named Pierre. Marion enjoyed sharing his faith, a friendly smile and a word of encouragement with family and friends alike.
He fought a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and remained steadfast in faith and spirit.
Survivors include his daughter, Pamela Buckner and husband, Charles Buckner, III and children, Katherine, Alexander and Benjamin of White Hall, Arkansas; son Nathan Alan Hill and wife, Rachel and daughter Kennedy of Fayetteville, Arkansas; wife Ruth Cattanach Hill of Whitney and children, Jo Anne Cattanach and son Alec Johnson of Fort Worth, Joanna Cattanach and husband Fadel El-Hajj and sons, Gabriel and Daniel of Dallas, and Benjamin Cattanach and wife, Crystal of Cleburne; 21 nieces and nephews and four siblings.
Marion requested that donations be made to Joy Filled Homes, P.O. Box 411, Litchfield, Illinois 62056.
