Marion Jo Tucker Rice, 70, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, in Hillsboro. A second memorial service and inurnment will be held at Waubaushene Protestant Cemetery at a later date. Marion was born February 4, 1940 in Waubaushene, Ontario, Canada the daughter of Charles and Mary Cockburn Tucker. She lived in Waubaushene until age 17 when she met the man of her dreams. On May 11, 1957 she married Al Rice in Coldwater, Ontario. The couple lived in Toronto, Brampton, Glen Williams, and Georgetown in Canada before moving to Texas in 1980 and settling in Whitney. In 1990 they moved to Hillsboro. Marion was a loving wife, mother, and Nana who enjoyed raising her kids, gardening, playing bridge, cards, and almost any games. She also was an accomplished gourmet cook. Traveling in the RV and enjoying friends she met were among her favorite past times. She attended Robinson Drive United Methodist Church in Robinson and was a member of United Church of Canada. Preceding her in death were her parents; six brothers, Claude, Delson Chippy, John, Francis, Garnet Barney, and Gordon Tucker; and two sisters, Marie Cadeau and Evelyn Raymond. Survivors include her husband, Al Rice of Hillsboro; four children, Nancy Louise Rice of New Brunswick, Canada, Darwin Allan Rice and wife, Jenny, of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, Nadine Marie Ridlehuber and husband, Bill, of Rio Vista, and Denise Elizabeth Rogers and husband, Rick, of Robinson; honorary daughter, Holly DuMoulin of Cheltenham, Ontario, Canada; brother, Charles Chuckie Tucker and wife, Gayle, of Waubaushene, Ontario, Canada; two sisters, June Copeland and husband Roy of Victoria Harbour, Ontario, Canada and Shirley Giles of Waubaushene, Ontario, Canada; nine grandchildren, Brandi, Joshua, Ryan, Alicia, Christopher, Jacob, Elizabeth, Angie, and Melissa; two great-grandchildren, Caylee and Waylon; three Fur children, Duke, Daisy, and Nicki; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many close friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Michael Charles and Jeremiah Seely who have been more than just doctors over the past year and a half.
