Marjorie Clydine Elliott, 65, of Denver, Colorado passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Hillsboro after a nine month illness with cancer. Memorials services will be held at a later date in Denver. A gathering of friends in Hillsboro will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 300 East Franklin Street, in Hillsboro.
Marjorie, better known as Marj to friends or Clydine to family, was born to the late Preston Clyde and Marjorie Arvilla (Potter) Elliott on December 4, 1948 in Denver, Colorado. Marj was a lifelong resident of the Denver Metro area.
Marj worked most of her life as a waitress in various restaurants; with her longest tenure at the White Spot restaurant on Broadway. She loved her family immensely and worked hard to attend family events, even when they were held out of the state. Her favorite hobbies were knitting, crocheting, and researching family history.
Marj was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacie Kay Foster; sister, Naoma June Dieckman Ross and husband, John; brother, Donald Dieckman; sister, Violet Elliott; and sister, Fern Johnson and husband, Rick.
Marj is survived by her daughter, Patty Foster Gilliam and husband, Danny, of Hillsboro; son, Jim Foster, Jr. And wife, Penny, of Woodland Park, Colorado; daughter, Candy Sheridan Allen and husband, Eddie, of Mulvane, Kansas; grandchildren, Rachel Gilliam Daigle and husband, Dustin, Abigail Gilliam, Michelle Foster Wardell and husband, Kevin, Brittany Foster, Robyn Foster, Amanda Allen, Alexis Allen, Dalton Allen, and Blake Allen; great-grandchildren, Aria Daigle and Caden Wardell; brother, John Elliott and wife, Dolores; sister-in-law, Gwen Dieckman; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 271, Hillsboro, TX 76645; High View Baptist Church, East Asia Mission, 1151 Rampart Range Road, Woodland Park, CO 80866; or to the charity of your choice.
