Marjorie Paris, 88, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Marjorie was born July 14, 1923 in Lovelace the daughter of Henry Watt and Phyllis Aylene (Smith) Walker. She grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. Following high school, she worked at McCrory’s. In March of 1948 she married John Paris and the couple moved to Cleburne. They later lived in Lamesa and Lubbock. Following her husband’s death in 1952, Marjorie returned to Osceola. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Itasca Nursing Home and in the late 1960's she completed her LVN training. Marjorie enjoyed tending her flower and vegetable gardens and also crocheting. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Itasca.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Jonny Michael Paris; granddaughter, Donna Ann Ridlehuber; and two sisters, Margaret Livingston and Mary Denton.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Skidmore and husband, Robert, of Hillsboro; two brothers-in-law, Charles Denton of Fort Worth and Paul Livingston of Cleburne; step-grandson, Robbie Skidmore and wife, Tina, of Abbott; three step-great grandchildren, Logan Skidmore, Robert Skidmore, and Ryan Skidmore; and a number of nieces and nephews.
