Mark Arensman, 52, of Crawford passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, in a Waco hospital. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, January 6, 2017 at Highland Baptist Church in Waco.
Mark was born December 30, 1963 in Escambia County, FL to Don Edward and Jeanne Marie (Courtemanche) Arensman. He lived in Florida until moving to Texas at the age of 17 following the death of his father. On September 27, 1998, he was united in marriage to Olga Babenko. Mark served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He began his career in criminal justice and went on to serve as the Chief of Police for Mart for a time. Following his aptitude for technology, he founded Prompt Technology, which he ran for a number of years before selling the firm.
A true entrepreneur, he also founded three other firms; Bugs.com, a pest control firm which he sold approximately 4 ½ years ago; and his present businesses, Down to Earth Technology and Thief Stoppers, a security and alarm company.
Mark’s favorite pastime was hunting. He also loved muscle cars, especially his Dodge Challenger, and pickup trucks. He was a member of Brazos Valley Muscle Cars. In addition, he was an amateur ham radio operator. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Waco.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Olga Arensman of Crawford; three children, Phillip, Victoria and Viktor, also of Crawford; his mother, Jeanne Arensman of Mart; mother-in-law, Luda Babenko of Crawford; and close friends and business associates, Lance Springman and Jose Villanueva, III.
