Mark Andrew Fletcher

Mark Andrew Fletcher of Whitney, Texas formerly of Midlothian, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2021 surrounded by his family. Friends may visit with the family at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney, Texas at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021.  A rosary will be held at 1:00 p.m. and service will follow at 2:00 p.m at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney on Saturday, April 10, 2021.

Mark was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 29, 1953.  He graduated in 1972 from Lyons Township High School in La Grange, Illinois.  He began his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, then ultimately completed his BBA and MBA at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Mark was a Certified Internal Auditor for the Daughters of Charity Hospital System and the State of Texas.

Mark married Dalaine Barron in November of 1980 and together they raised two daughters, Marlaine and Jayna. Mark and Dalaine were incredibly involved in the lives of their two daughters and spent many hours volunteering with their school and various community charities.

Mark was a kind and giving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.  He was loved by all who knew him and would always be ready to lend a hand when needed.

Mark was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and Dallas Cowboys fan.  And of course, Mark had purple blood flowing for his beloved TCU Horned Frogs.

Mark was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Peggy and Jim Fletcher, his sister, Barbara Fletcher Oursler, his nephew and Godson, John Berkovsky, and many other family and friends that preceded him in death.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Dalaine, and his daughters and their spouses, Marlaine and Williams Sims of Alvarado, Texas and Jayna and Mark Sanders of Wichita Falls, Texas and grandchildren, Elliot, and Reed Sanders.  Other survivors include his siblings, Jim and Meg Fletcher of Hinsdale, Illinois, Mike and Stephanie Fletcher of Westmont, Illinois, and Patti and Wes Berkovsky of Fort Worth, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The family asks that those wishing to make a donation in Mark’s memory would consider donating to the Michael J Fox Parkinson Foundation.

If you are able to attend services or are remembering from afar, please wear purple as a tribute to Mark and his love for the TCU Horned Frogs.

Wearing of masks is encouraged.
