Mark Gerard Roden

Mark Gerard Roden, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away January 2, 2024, in Waxahachie, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 5, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri August 12, 1968, to Dennis Roden and Alice Stoverink.

Mark was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and Godfather to Jaylon and Jordan Fennell, Sofia Lopez, Neymar Lopez and the late Jonathan Brents. He loved his family more than anything and spent his life caring for and serving others. Mark served in the army and fought in Operation: Desert Storm. He also served his church as a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Sunday school teacher. Mark was actively involved in his community through coaching various sports with HSA. He genuinely cared about all the children of the community and shared a bond with each of them and knew how to put a smile on anybody’s face. Mark was always there for anyone who needed a hand and made a beautiful impact on the world. Mark loved many and is loved by many.

Mark is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Kathy Roden; children, Gregory, Adam, and Jaime Roden; brother, Shawn Roden; and niece, Virginia Moore.
