Marlene Helen Neese Eubanks went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the age of 68. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, with Marlene’s brother-in-law, Henry Apperson, officiating. A visitation will be held from 12 - 3 p.m., on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Marlene was born on February 5, 1948, in San Antonio, to Marvin and Ethel (Brandhorst) Neese.
She graduated from Whitney High School in 1966 and then obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Texas Wesleyan College, graduating with high honors.

On June 3 1969, she was initiated into Walter Baldwin Chapter #929, Order of the Eastern Star, in Waco and was a current member of the Whitney Chapter #930. During the 46 years she was a member, she was a Past Matron in Eastern Star, as well as Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. Having been a Rainbow Girl herself as a teenager, she enjoyed volunteering and deeply cared for the girls under her guidance.

Marlene loved every aspect of life and lived it to the fullest. In the 1970's when computers were just entering the business world, she was a software consultant for Human Resource Departments. She traveled all over the United States implementing these software programs and she took great pride in being among the pioneers in this industry.

Never wanting a dull moment in her life, Marlene served over twenty years in the United States Naval Reserve and was honored to serve her country. She was able to travel all over the world with the Navy and had great stories and memories of those times. When she retired, she had attained the rank of Commander. She was a highly decorated officer. After retirement from her civilian and military careers, she became a substitute teacher and thoroughly loved teaching children.

A member of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, Marlene had a strong faith and practiced it daily. She loved the Lord and knew He loved her. She was welcomed into Heaven’s gates by her parents and two infant siblings along with several family members and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her precious and adored grandson, Andrew Marchesani of New Jersey and her daughter, Michelle Marchesani of Arlington; a brother, Milton Neese and wife, Linda of Whitney; and a sister, Darlene Pelham-Apperson and husband, Henry of Whitney. She had three nephews, Chad Pelham, Jared Neese and Jeffrey Neese, all of Whitney, and a multitude of great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Honorary pallbearers will include Chad Pelham, Jared Neese, Jeffrey Neese, Andrew Marchesani Vinny Marchesani, and Mason Pelham.
