Marshall Eugene Booth passed away on February 22, 2007 in Whitney. He was the son of James Otis Wesley and Viva Mae Worley Booth. Marshall was born in Whitney and lived there all of life. On Sept. 9, 1933 he married Viola Opal Shelley in Whitney and they were married for 73 years. For most of his life, he was a farmer and rancher. Marshall and Viola mowed and took care of the Prairie Valley Cemetery for over 15 years. He enjoyed gardening and working puzzle books. He was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Tommy and Johnny Booth; sister, Nora Halbert; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Survivors include his wife, Viola Opal Shelley Booth of Whitney; 6 children, Bobby Odell Booth and wife, Ophelia of Hillsboro, Chester Eli Booth and wife, Barbara of Whitney, David Allen Booth and wife, Martha of Flint, Eddie Marshall Booth and wife, Joyce of Whitney, Rita Evelyn Edmonds and husband, Bob of Whitney, Opal Lee Mayfield and husband, Bill of Whitney; brother, Jodie Booth and wife, Mary Frances of Whitney; sisters, Dell Overton of Whitney, Ann Harvey of Whitney; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren;1 great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
