Martha Tubbs

Martha was the daughter of Charles Adolphos and Fannie Bell Cooper Burleson. She was married to the late Ray Tubbs. In the 1950's, she was the co-owner of a neighborhood grocery store in Hillsboro. Later she moved to Temple and became an LVN, working in nursing homes in Temple. In the early 70's she returned to Hillsboro and worked at Hill Haven Nursing Home and the Country Market. She was a member of the Waxahachie Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, infant son, two sons-in-law, five sisters and two brothers. Survivors include: two daughters, Joy Graham of Ben Wheeler, Texas, and Mona Spurlock of Brownwood, Texas; one sister-in-law, Muriel Burleson of Ladonia, Texas; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and seventeen great great grandchildren; two nieces, Jo Nell Davis of Hillsboro, and Gayle Kennedy of Purvis, Mississippi; three nephews, Charles Schronk of Waxahachie, Bob Schronk and wife Gay of Abilene, and Billy Schronk and wife Sylvia of Troup, Texas; several great nieces and nephews.
