Martti Suomi

Martti Suomi, 87, of Whitney passed away on October 31, 2004 at Town Hall Estates in Whitney. He was the son of Kusti and Pauliina Simila Suomi. He married Juanita Claudine Paylor on December 10, 1942 in Monroe, Louisiana. He had lived in Monroe most of his life and in Whitney the past five years. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of Whitney Church of Christ and a member of Sigma Alpha Epson Fraternity. Survivors include is wife, Claudine of Whitney; children, Barbara Elizabeth Hubert and husband, Larry of Houston, Karl Martti Suomi and wife, Ellen of Newark, Delaware, Charles Arthur Suomi and wife, Jackie of Whitney; eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
