Marvin Wade Sr

Marvin Otis Wade, Sr. 77 of Whitney passed away on December 15, 2009. Mr. Wade was born in the Whitney area February 1, 1932, the son of Lillian Lorene Gant Wade Boyd and Otis Wade. He attended Whitney schools, playing for the Whitney Wildcats graduating from Whitney High School in 1949. He attended Hill College and Navarro Junior College. Mr. Wade was an entrepreneur who was well known for his work as a house mover and general contractor throughout central Texas and specifically for his lifelong business relationship with his mother, L.L. Boyd, through their company L.L. Boyd and Son in Hill County. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, D. J. Campbell. Mr. Wade is survived by his wife, Linda Wade of Belton and by his former wife Earlene Pat Wade of Whitney and their five children, Christine Wade Moran of Plano, Marvin Wade, Jr. of Richardson, Darlene Wade Campbell of Waco, Richard Wade of North Richland Hills and James Wade of Whitney. Survivors also include grandchildren, Melissa Luck Fischer, Joel Luck, Janet Campbell Smith, Rachel Campbell, Lyndi Wade and Veronika Wade; great grandchildren, Amber Blatney Wilson, Audrey Thornell, Aryn Thornell, Angelina Luck, Natalie Luck, Avery Smith and Katelyn McAfee; great great granddaughter, Alexis Wilson.
