Mary Christine Armstrong, age 87 of Whitney passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at her residence in Whitney. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 13, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Pastor Phillip Wottrich officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Mary was born January 8, 1925, in Waltham, Massachusetts to John and Agnes (Ross) MacLellan. She was united in marriage to Edward A Armstrong on May 19, 1957, in Waltham, Massachusetts. Mary was proud to be a resident of Whitney over the years and never missed her appointment with Carmen, her hairdresser on Friday morning. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to thrift stores. Mary loved being with her family and loved them all unconditionally. She also loved to talk to anyone that would listen and make new friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters-in-law.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ed Armstrong of Whitney; children, Linda Mills of Whitney and Barbara Barry and husband Donald of Smithfield, Rhode Island; sister, Catherine MacLellan of Waltham, Massachusetts; 3 grandchildren, Donnie Barry, Timothy Mills, and David Mills and wife Heather; 4 great-grandchildren, Maykayla Mills, Tristan Mills, Venna Barry, and Evelyn Barry.
