Mary Bailey, 89, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Mr. Ted Cherry officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Born November 30, 1927 in Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Sydney Brooks and Lydia Adaline (Osborne) Horne. Following her graduation from Hillsboro High School in 1943, she went on to attend Hillsboro Junior College. On July 3, 1946, Mary was united in marriage to Charles G. Bailey. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2001. Mary began her banking career at Citizens National Bank in Hillsboro on January 17, 1955. She would continue serving her customers for 42 years, retiring as a bank officer on January 17, 1997. She was a member of College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Billie Williford and Lydia Teakell; and brother, Levi Horne.

Survivors include her sister, Bettsy Prince of McKinney; three nephews, Tony Williford and wife Vicki, of Hillsboro, Mike Bailey and wife, Cheryl, of Arlington, and Rick Bailey and wife, Judy, of Hillsboro; and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
