Mary Barton

Mary Jane Barton, 85 of Laguna Park, passed away on April 29, 2016 in Fort Worth. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Mary Jane was born on April 25, 1931, in Houston, to the late Joseph and Laura (Hensley) Williamson. On February 3, 1950, she married Dr. James G. Barton. An avid traveler who enjoyed cruises, she was also a licensed private pilot and liked to fly airplanes. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating and fishing. For approximately 20 year,s Mary Jane worked as a lab and x-ray technician at Barton and Hill Medical Association in Whitney.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Dr. James G. Barton, on August 4, 2006; a son, Bruce G. Barton on December 15, 1985; two sisters, Nadine Harriss; and a brother, Jeff Steacy.

Survivors include her daughters, Terri Barton and husband, Ted Arnold of Euless and Paula Barton and husband Sonny Edwards of Laguna Park; grandson, Brad Barton and wife Julie of Orange; granddaughters, Kyndal Lilley and Jordan Lilley, both of Laguna Park; and two great-grandsons, Harrison Barton and Logan Ellis, both of Orange.
