Mary Lydia (Escobedo) Flores

Maria (Mary) Lidia Flores, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends July 3, 2023. Funeral service will take place at 1:30 pm, Monday, July 10, 2023, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory, Hillsboro.  Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Marshall & Marshall, Hillsboro.

Mary was born in Edinburg, Texas on April 4, 1930.  She was one of seven children.  Mary was united in marriage to Eddie Flores of Pharr, Texas, in 1944. They moved to Bynum, Texas and then to Hillsboro, Texas where they spent their lives raising a family and making friends.

Mary was an active member of the Catholic church and a housewife who loved to plant roses and watch them bloom.  She loved cooking, having garage sales and going to garage sales.  Additionally, she enjoyed going out to eat.  Her greatest joy was having a house full of family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Flores, Sr.; her daughters, Dee Carmichael and Yolanda Bandy; and her son-in-law, Wayne Bandy.  She is survived by her sons, Eddie Flores, Jr., of Hillsboro, Joe Flores and his wife, Patricia of Robinson, Texas; grandchildren, Tommy Bandy and wife Christi, of Burleson, Texas, Justin Flores and wife, Tiffany of China Springs, Texas; and four loving great grandchildren.
