Mary Nell Terry Harwell, 86, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the funeral home.
Mary was born December 30, 1928 in the McMurray Community to John David and Maggie (Walker) Terry. She grew up in Hill County and lived in Hillsboro most of her life. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and went on to attend Hill Junior College. On September 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to Cotton Harwell. The couple operated Cotton Harwell’s Mobil Station and Wrecker Service for 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, William F. Terry; and two sisters, Sarah Eunice Terry and Lena Paulla Fair.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Kenneth “Cotton” Harwell of Hillsboro; a number of nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
