Mary Head

Mary Vida Head, 87, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Paul Clark of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating.

The youngest of 11 children, Mary was born June 8, 1923 near Denton, TX to the late Oscar Lee and Lillie Pearl (Nichols) Hankins. She grew up in Fort Worth. On April 11, 1941 she married Forest Head and they moved to Hillsboro in 1949. She was a homemaker and devoted mother whose most important thing in life was family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.

Also preceding her in death were all of her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Forest Head of Hillsboro; two children, Kent D. Head and wife, Judy, of Hillsboro and Karen Dickson and husband, Paul, of Forgan, OK; three grandchildren, Douglas Head, Shannon Gross, and Wendy Crane; and eight great-grandchildren, Preston, Dakota, and Lainie Head, Rachel and Makenzie Gross, Logan and Hayden Wooters, and Kailey Crane.
